Has anyone personally used one or even know anything about them or not. I seen they discontinued them along with remingtons r-15 line in the .204. Cabelas has one on sale so just trying to get some reviews before getting to excited about it. The only flaw that i have seen about it is its a 18 inch barrel and from what i have read that makes you loose alot of its potential volocity compared to a 22 or 24. Any help would be great..Thanks!!

I have a 223 AR with a 16 inch barrel dead nuts to 300 yards after that it does loose some accuracy. Instead of grouping 1/2 inch it loosens up to about 1 1/2 inches. The 223 in an 18 inch barrel will handle 600 yards plus. If you look at the actually FT lbs of energy lost is very minimal with barrel length. It depends on what how you plan on using it.

Barrel twist will make a difference in accuracy and weight of bullets it will shoot accurately.

I would buy it and try it out. If nothing else, you can buy a different upper and sell the .204.

Can you put a different upper on it? The magazine will be smaller with a .204 wouldnt it. i dont think you can buy 223 lowers and put a 308 upper can you

Nope .223/5.56 upper is defferent from the .308 lower. .308 is bigger and blockier.
