I am looking at the AR style rifles in either 223 or 22-250. What are the pros and cons. I am not sure … I can get over it not looking and feeling like a traditional rifle.

Who is making a 22-250 ar?

They get expensive if you want a lot of the nice options. With that said, you can also get them cheap and have a lot of gun throwing lead down range. What are your plans for the gun? A predator gun? They are nice for coyote hunting if you need a quick follow up shot as you dont have to eject and reload a shell like a bolt gun.

I dont personally own one, but when i do make the purchase i know its going to be a spendy one.

What I have read so far is a pretty good upper can be purchased for around $350 & up, the lower can run from $100 to skys the limit.

I would be looking at the UP and not try to purchase a $450 AR. You really need to decide what it will be used for then build/buy accordingly. I found 22-250 chamberings for an AR-10? IF you want a basic AR at a reasonable price I think you need to focus on another chambering. I could be wrong. I have a standard A4 type. Short with handle on back reciever so the sights common to original M-16’s. 223. My next AR will have a flat top so I can mount a scope. My wish list gun will likely be in 6.8 Rem which can easily be used for deer. Rock River Arms Coyote Carbine is a good example of that gun. I may even just buy that very one but low on priority list.

Wow. They have them for everything now. Just shows the popularity of that platform. Have fun putting yours together. While I still dont know why I own one with a dozen 30-round magazines, I’m glad I do.

I really want it for Yote hunting, the accuracy for an automatic is outstanding, for those …..ah hum extra shots. The custom upper is guaranteed for .5 groups at a hundred yards.
