Jon: I shoot a 30+ year old Crosman .22 pump gun with a 4x scope. No clue on velocity but it has done a number on lots of squirrels and chipmunks. I’ve used both the RWS and Cabelas brand without much difference. The hollow points fly better than the wad cutters for me. But beyond 20 yds is more of a lucky hit than skill. Still deadly though.

Too bad we can’t buy a variety pack with 15-20 rounds each style! One can lasts 2-3 years.

You can buy variety packs with 50-100 pellets. Google Gamo Pellets.

This year out of my handed down .22 Cross Man I have been shooting the 25PBA Armor Pellet (Domed with Ballistic tip, 10.6 grain).

With open sites these pellets have been tack drivers for me out to 25 yards. Beyond that it is only my eyes which are the flaw.

I am super happy with the performance they have on the skull cap of the critters they have dropped. Great penetration and what a wallop they make. Matter in fact this has been my go to squirrel gun this year.
