Automatic trap recommendations?

I am looking to buy an electronic trap thrower for occasional use for small (2-3 guys) or large (20+ guys) groups. We don’t need anything fancy, and we would like to keep the cost under 1k if possible. We do want something that has a good name, is built solidly, preforms well, needs minimal maintenance, etc..

Anyone have any recommendations? Atlas vs other brands? I see Cabelas has some we could choose from – are there any online stores I should also be looking at that might have better prices?

    Thanks!

I will check with my father in-law he runs a gun club and they have some automatic throwers that I think work pretty darn good.

Thanks, I’d appreciate any info… Or if anyone knows of any R&G clubs that might be getting rid of used (but still good) throwers…

    Thanks!

I talked to him, and he said they use Eagle Promatic I have used them there, and really like them! Hope this helps a little bit

    Thanks, guys….

After thinking about it and reading lots of reviews, we went with the Atlas AT50. Should meet our needs, looks very solid, had far superior reviews to Do-All and other Chinese-made traps, and Atlas is made in the USA.

Should be fun to get shootin’!

One more follow up question. Has anyone ever shot any “alternative” trap games? What I mean is, a game that you might not normally see at a shooting club. For example, an Annie Oakley style shoot.

We would like to keep our shoots as infomal as possible while still have some sort of competition — and be able to change the pace on occasion with various game formats.

If you’ve tried any cool “alternative” games, let me know!
