I have got close quarter covered but I am looking for something that will reach out and touch someone. Not talking sniper distance but something before it gets to close quarters.
Price point at this time comes into effect which rules out AR’s. Whats your thoughts on tatical shotgun or a 9mm carbine?
are you looking to put em down for good or slow em down ??

Tactical shotgun would be awsome but I dont know about the range effective ness, I have a 9mm carbine that can drive tacks at 100 yards, and it looks realy mean too!! 
I picked up a hipiont carbine for under 200 bucks, you cant buy 2000 rounds for that price, i look at it as a disposable gun!! 1000 rounds threw it with no hicups

So many options. What is the range you want? Indoors, across your yard,…. simple solution is still the 12g. and buck shot. For added drama, fire a magnesium fire ball

I got a 10ga. with a 12 shot mag. extention… and a 9mm carbine.
Idon’t know what is considered too much but you can still build an ar-15 for under 800 bucks yourself.
What about a SKS? The 7.62 ammo is cheep at around $0.20 a shot. Guns are readily avaliable for cheep. The thirty round clips are only 12 bucks a piece, and look hella mean sticking out from under the gun. Plus if its dark out the 4 inch flame shooting from the end of the gun is a real “why the F did we choose to mess with this guy” as they run away and you throw the next clip in. Sure sub 3″ groups are un heard of, but at 6 bucks per clip you can put a lot of FMJ’s flying at em before breaking the bank. The loose tolerances on the gun make for conceiling it in places like flower beds and sandboxes possible. Just shake the dirt out, and rack another if the neighborhood block party turns in to all out riot. SO my vote would be for a SKS, and I’ll sum up the whole gun with two words, CHEEP and SCARY.
I sure like my Ruger Rancher 223, it`ll reach out and touch somebody and still reasonable to shoot.
