Is it just me.

Besides my Ruger Rancher any rifle I pick up with a scope on it, I am constantly climbing the stock to get the right eye relief, and the butt is out on my bicep instead of in my shoulder. Put on a few clothes and the problem compounds. My Remington 742 06 I have the scope set as far back in the rings as it will go. It is awful for me when wearing a heavy coat.

New scope with different properties? (eye relief, length of tube, etc…)

Cut down the stock?

A gun smith or yourself could cut it down and add spacers as needed to adjust the draw length and eye releaf as needed. Should help out.
