Does anyone have any experience with the Rossi Trifecta Combo (.22lr/.243/and 20g barrels) I have someone that wants to trade it to me for a bunch of traps. I see Cabelas has it for $329.00 and on a Door Buster sale for $279.00. I’ve never owned or shot a Rossi, so I know nothing about these.

    Thanks

Only experience I have is with their muzzleloader. The gun shot well. It was terrible at fouling out of the break action though. Enough so that it discolored the bottom of the scope and the top of the gun. Not to mention my face after a few shots. I didnt’ care for the breakdown rod either. I think it would be too much hassle in the heat of the moment. I took it back after 3 days.

I bought one for my 4 year old (he’ll get it later) it is the youth set .243 .22 and 20 ga. I have played with the .243 it is not a tack driver, could be a scope issue though.
I am happy with the set up, I like even though it is a hammer gun it also has a safey on it too. Kids and hammer gun can be a bad combo. I think you’ll like it.

As for safety, the Rossi’s actually have mid-cock settings AND an intercepter bar. Teach the youngster well and they’re very safe to use.

I’ve had 3 different Rossi combos, featuring .410, 20ga., 22LR, and .243. All fit well and performed fine but did notice a couple of things. One, packingheat is right about the .243 not being a tack driver but it was certainly good enough to be inside the vital area of a deer (I was using a cheaper scope….possible optics factor) and the recoil pad was very good at absorbing the recoil. The other thing I noticed is that if the gun comes with hi-vis sights, I think it actually makes the gun tougher to shoot. The 22LR’s with traditional irons were far more accurate than the hi-vis models.

Sold many a unit when I still worked for Mills Fleet Farm and never had one come back or anyone voice any regrets about making the purchase.

Thanks for the comments guy! As always, I trust the opinions of so many IDO members. I did PASS on the trade, as it was really something I didn’t need.
