I am heading to illinois dec 2nd for a shotgun hunt and initially sighted in a remington 1187 12 guage with the remington accu-tips. used 10 sighting it in and now cant find any more anywhere. Any one have luck with the federal barnes tipped slugs or the hornady sst slugs?

I shoot an 870 SPS Super Slug and it loves 2 3/4″n accutips. 3 shots off sand bags at 100 yards with a scope puts a hole in the paper just bigger than a quarter. I shot 10 diferant slugs through this gun when I 1st got it. Accu tips were #1. Federal barnes tipped and federal fusion were about a tie for #2 with 1.5″ to 2″ groups. Hordaday were around 3″ or 4″ and and winchester Supreme elite were about the same. All these were 2 3/4″ shells I tried 3″ in some of them and all were larger groups exept the fusions. Every gun shoots ammo diferantly but I think if you go with the federals they will be very close to the same as the accu-tips. Good Luck and kill a big one.
