Should have my new gun setup by Saturday and want to hit the range. The gun is a DPMS Panter Bull 20 with a Nikon 4-12X50MM. This is my first 223 and would like to know some proven loads I should pickup to give a try. Plan on this being my coyote gun.

    Thanks

No, not 223 only shotshell at this time. Plan on breaking in this weekend then find my go to load.

I have a regular AR and not a precision setup like yours. I have buy buying Federal XM193 ammo from Gander. $9 for 20 rounds and they have never had a problem cycling and they seem to work well for peep sights.

They are 5.56 though. Not sure your gun can take those?

ps-just checked and your gun is .223 Rem only so nevermind on this ammo.

Every gun is different and factory loads are made to generic specs. Until you get out and shoot different loads, you won’t know what it likes

I’ll suggest this for hunting. Works great on deer. Federal 62grain T3 Tactical Bonded Core

I really want to take one with my .223 but gun deer is my shortest season out of them all. I think a whopping 3.5 days this year. With such a limited window and the fact I like having venison so much I cannot afford to experiment and just use my deer slaying, pile driving, scoped ought-six.

I know what you mean. I have a 22-250 HOWA that is a long range coyote wacking machine…but the 270 is dialed in for shooting up to 600 yards. Basicly, if I can see it, I can kill it!

Black Hills Reman stuff has worked fine for me in my Savage.

I’m going to burn up a 100 or so this weekend while breaking in the barrel. My plan is to find a 55 gr load it likes afterwards. Just wanting to hear what you guys are using. Guess I should have asked what you wouldn’t use

Don’t know if you saw my post last year or not but my young brother took a 12 point buck last year that when 159 and dressed at 245lbs with this load in his AR-15
