I have been wondering the same thing myself. Not a lot of people write fishing reports on pools 14,15,and 16. Any help on these pools would be great

I’ve fished 14 three times since mid March, with 5 fish TOTAL in the boat. Been a very tough bite when I’ve been out. I have fished mostly from the dam down to Clinton. Have not fished down river to speak of. Flow is very high, as Bigjigger2002 mentioned. My last day out, on Wedensday of this week, the water clarity had improved some, but I was unable to determine any consistant pattern.
All three times out for me where post cold front, but this time of year that does not generally present much of a problem.
Water temp was 40.2-41 degrees on Wedensday, so spawn should soon begin. With the flows and levels current and predicted, I believe my next time out I will be focusing on down river staging areas and the adjacent current seams.
I have also heard much better reports for pool 13, but have not been out up there. Good luck and let us know how you do.

I’m trying one one my turkey gun. I am a little worried about leaving it on all the time. I just practice turning it on and off being the turkeys are not showing up.

Got that exact thing only it’s got a different brand stamped on it. Just tried it our on a .22 pistol last night and have been happy so far.

I have one on my critter gun used for keeping water flowing around the rice fields and it works great but I do keep forgetting it on and killing the batteries.

Sorry for getting back to you late Steve, I was not very impressed with it for a hunting situation, I am going to put it on my 22 handgun. I worried too much about the battery, (out hunting I want to get away from worrying about things). Just my 2 cents.

FWIW, I have left mine on overnight once and the battery still had plenty of power in it. Probably depends how bright you have it set, too. I always carry a spare battery with, though.

No problem I am late getting back to this post myself.

Well I bit the bullet and got one of these last weekend and put it on my 870, I think I am going to really like it. I will have to get to the gun range soon and put it to the test, I will report back here when I do.

PS: They did tell me at the store that it would be a good idea to carry one or two spare batteries.

    Steve,

I put one on my Ithaca Deer Slayer 3yrs ago and 2 more deer have hit the freezer since. The 1st was an 8pt. in a jump situation so the buck was up and running full tilt in 1/2 a second. Threw up the red dot, picked my shoot lane, and made a neck shot, on the run at 25yds.

Target acquisition is so fast on these red dot scopes and with the parallax thing that ensures where you see red is where the bullet goes, it’s meat in the freezer my friend!

I too have learned to keep a spare battery around. I buy one a week before the season opener and leave it in the package. If I don’t use it, I simply return it. So far, I have yet to replace the original and I do use this gun as my brush stalker….hrs and hrs of tracking and stalking, plus the additional 3yrs of being on the shelf. This has built enough confidence that I don’t worry or wonder about power at all. This season will be #4 and either I change the battery or return one unused again…..not bad imho.
