It seems the recent ammo shortage is starting to get much better. I am now seeing all the most popular types readily available online at decent prices. Starting to show up in stores a little slower but definitely an improvement from before. Hopefully we dont have another panic attack (real or not) in the near future.

Really I couldnt tell!Seems to me the stores do not have much of anything and the web sites are out of stock or back ordered 2-4 months. I shop midway all the time and a couple of the other web sites their prices are assinine at almost 50.00 for 50 rounds of 40 cal pistol.

your kidding, right? .40 and .223 readily available at Cabelas, Natchez, Gander, etc. About .45 or less per round.

I spoke too soon. Cabelas appears to be faultering again but the other stores I mentioned have it. I just received a hundred rounds this week for my .223 and have bought my .40 in the stores.

100 rounds of .223 will last about 5 minutes at the range. I saw 1000 rounds of Lake City .223 or 5.56 on the internet for 773 dollars. People are still paying that kind of a price. I have contacts at federal and I heard that they are setting up a 4th centerfire primer assembly line and that combined with cci speer that their back order is something like 100 million dollars. But yes I agree 40s are readily available. Yes cabelas generally will advertise .223s but when you get to the store they are all out of stock and it is generally wolf junk anyhow steel case ,cant reload those.

Let me know when you see some .380. I have a few buddies having fits trying to find any. Even an ammo wholesaler I know said “If you see any…BUY IT!!!

I tried like heck to prove you wrong Chris. At first I thought I read 308 and found lots of ammo for that but re-read and saw 380. I looked high and low. Even at Gander where they have tons of previously hard to find ammo including 223 up the wazoo. No dice. I guess 380 is the last round they will bring back up to speed.

I personally dont shoot enough and am not interested in reloading. I still have a brand new shotgun reloader in the box I got as a gift long ago! On a side note I shot my AR again this weekend. What a sweet machine! 3 (30)round clips and not a hickup. And it is really accurate for peep sites. I was nailing the fun targets at the 100 yd range. I really fell in love with that gun this weekend. Except made the mistake of wearing muffs which the stock kept pushing off my right ear and its still ringing…Plugs next time.

I was more thinking of the comment Bannana Clips. I Used to work in LE and got drilled about saying clips instead of Magazines or mags. As far as six. I have way more so no big deal

Come on Mike it’s 2009, clips are what hold the gun to your belt!

“clips” is a perfectly acceptable term. Besides, banana mag sound too gay.

I ‘spose if the shoe fits…

The FW and I stopped at Farm and Fleet in Red Wing yesterday.

    .380 $14.95
    9mm $10.95 and up

I don’t recall the price of the .45 ammo.

They didn’t have a lot, but there was a few boxes of each.
