Missed by ……….that much!! … Read before watching This is a very, very lucky sportsman. The guy is shooting
a .50 caliber rifle.. Watch the dust, when the bullet returns, after he fires..

The target, a steel plate was 1000 yards away.

You can hear the ping of the hit, next the ricocheting bullet comes back, and then hits his earmuffs. He thought he was hit.

The footage is amazing, you can hear the bullet as it tumbles through the air on its course back toward the shooter. He’s lucky, it hit the dirt first.

He is okay, and obviously very lucky. It could have been between his eyes…….

The bullet grazed his earmuffs, What a difference an inch makes !!!!

Not a huge deal, but I was a military sniper in the MP’s for years and there is no way that is 1000 yards.

1000 yards… I thought the same thing.. more like 500 down, 500 back. I can make out the plate and at 300 yards, I remember it was tough to pick out the pop up silhoutte… Either way… CRAZY !!!

I too have seen it. I think the title ought to be “Near Hit” however. Insane, ain’t no way it is 1000 yards.

It’s amazing, all the “air” around him and the bullet came directly back at him and bounced just right. That’s simply bad luck (on top of the obvious poor choices).

I can tell you all this for sure. Shooting a .50 centerfire is a lot of fun. I cut down a dead Elm tree approx. 14 inches in diameter at about 300 yards. 7 shots across and “timber”. Fun stuff. Accuracy does not really start to shine until over 500 yards or so though. Little recoil if behind the gun, but stand to the side and prepare yourself. Still makes me giggle.
