T/C Encore

I have a T/C encore with a 300 win mag barel. I recently bought a box of remington shells. When I try to load them, the belt of the case gets hung on the extractor. I have another box of remington and the samething happens. I have shot several other brands with no problem.
Anybody else ever heard of this or know how to fix it??

Did you just get this barrel or have you shot out of this gun before, it’s not cambered for a WSM 300 is it?

I think you can get a 26″ in 300 Win. I think they call it the Heavy Barrel…..

I’ve had it for about 5 years now and have shot several rounds of other brands through it with no problems. It’s just the remington belt that will not clear the extractor when loading.

That would be my thought. A “Short Magnum” is not belted. It should say on the barrel. If you see WSM (WInchester Short Magnum) you need to get rid of those shells.

I don’t believe T/C makes an Encore barrel in 300 WSM, just the Magnum. Is it a T/C barrel or did you or somebody have it built ??? I wouldn’t mess around, like Tuck says, get rid of them rounds..

Yes, it is a T/C barrel and yes I am 100% sure it is a 300 Win Mag not WSM. I have proably shot about a 100 rounds through it but the only problem is with remington cases/belts.
