I finally got the Christmas bills cleared up and was able to go get what I put on lay away before that fateful day. I had found, luckily enough, a Hi Point 995 9mm carbine. Just a few weeks ago momma confessed that she was feeling uneasy about carrying my heavy 12 gauge for this, her first time, turkey hunting season. No sooner did we finish lunch at Texas Roadhouse I headed directly to the gun stores. I found a mint Mossberg 500 in 20 gauge. A nice lightweight gun that she likes the feel of. On lay away it went!

Yesterday we got up and left early to hit the fishing sale at Gander Mountain. I never did make it there as I was in a I hurry to get home for other commitments. Instead picked up my Hi Point carbine and the Mossy. I was stoked! But I forgot to buy some turkey loads so we went back to town today. Went to Wally and got that end sewed up but I wanted to go to Scheel’s yet so I headed there quick.

They were swamped again in the gun department so I did a high speed low pass on the rifles. Scanned the pistols and had a sudden urge to fondle some wheel guns. Long story short I now have a SWEET Taurus Judge with 4″ blued barrel (2.5″ chamber) waiting to clear customs.

So there it is. How could the weekend have gone any better? Hard to do it unless momma would have simultaneously been at another gun shop buying some hardware or ammo!

You need a vacation day for Friday, and come shoot with us at Bill’s on Thursday!!!
    Congrats on the new additions!
Ritter should be posting some pics of our little bonfire and blast outing yesterday. We had my Mini 14, and a buddy had his DPMS AR 15 and a bunch of hand irons.

Thanks guys! I’ve been eying up those shoots you guys schedule and hope to someday make it over for one. I love to shoot and don’t mind driving to do it. I do get over that way from time to time and will hopefully get one to line up and kill two birds with one stone.

Dude you are so right! The only picture I have right now is from a cell phone of me holding the 995. I’ll get the others as soon as possible.
