Winnibigoshish is what you are looking for. There are only one or two fish in that lake though.

On a serious note, it is a great lake. et us know what time of year you are going and we will be able to give you more specifics.

Yeah if you have a time of year we can help you more. I spend time up there every year. Its a great fishery. A great walleye lake and a ton of pike. Lots of hammer handles. It gets tougher every year running across 4lb plus fish. The bass fishing is a secret gem. I dont do it but i know people who do and they get pigs.

    Robby-

I might post this in the Lake Winnebagosh forum to get a little more traction on what/where to go to catch those bass.
    Good luck

OH MY!! Don’t mention Bass and Winni in the same sentance!!!

Let me make this clear! THERE ARE NO BASS OR PANFISH IN WINNI!!

…and don’t stay at Tamerack Lodge ’cause Jeff keeps all the hot spots to himself!

Robby, once you to go to This post<<<<

..scroll through the post for the photos…don’t read anything there…nothing worth reading.

Then go to the 6th post down to a post by “fish them all”…click on the link there. It’s last years Tamerack/IDA get together.

This message is only for Robby…all others please disregard this post.

Thanks everyone. I really appreciate it! The trip is planned for the second week of June. I have not committed yet, still to get the ok from my wife. If I do committ, I will graciously accept any tips. Prior to going I would also be interested in obtaining a topo map of the lake. If anyone knows a source, please let me know. Again, thanks everyone!

Oooo thats a fun time of year on Winnie if you like rigging midlake bars and humps. And as you can any time of year on Winnie you can still find plenty of fish shallow.

I have shot Pyrodex, 777 and Black Mag3 (which is what I have used the past 2 seasons). I have noticed the FFG and FFFG ratings as I have been looking at other powders and wonder what is the real difference. Can someone tell me if one is better to use than the other? I shoot a T/C Omega in .45 and will be picking up a T/C .50 later this week. Also, since I have been shooting a .45, I have always shot loose powder and not sticks if that makes any difference.

    Thanks!

2F is mostly used in (muzzleloading) rifles and shotguns. Pyrodex RS would be similar.
3F is used in smaller calibers, pistols, and to prime pans in flintlocks. Pyrodex P would be similar.

I am not an expert on this, but that is the info I found when I switched to using granular powder.

I just picked up another T/C Omega in a .50 cal this time and the book it came with says to use the FFG. I have been shooting a .45 cal and love it so when a deal came up I grabbed the .50 too. Would have liked to try the Triumph but the deal on the Z5 was too good to pass up.
