Any BSA Rifle-Scope owners out there? I currently have a 1.5-4.5 Cat’s-Eye on my .270. It is perfect for where I normally hunt (thick thick crap!), but now that I will be doing some hunting down south with my girlfriend, I might be in the market for a stronger scope. (i’m thinking 3-10x)

I’ve liked my BSA thus far and am considering another. Keep in mind i’m a college student, so don’t go considering Leupold, Swarovski, or Zeiss!

    thoughts?

I would recommend keep using the scope you have, start saving your pennies and wait until you can get one of the higher end scopes. A .270 deserves a good scope.

I have been very happy with Nikon scopes, and there not as expensive as some of the ones you mentioned.

I’ll second that…the Nikon Pro Staff scopes are reasonably priced (around $159 retail)…have a good warranty, and are leagues above a Cats Eye. Watch the classifieds here for other good scope deals.
If you need to stay under $100 then I would look at Bushnell.

I had a BSA on a .243 I did not like it. The cross airs were too bold and the clarity was very poor. Check this website out maybe you can find a little better scope for what you are looking to spend.http://www.samplelist.com

I bought a Bushnell 3×12 Dusk & Dawn scope for my .17 HMR. It has a long range adjustment feature that I LOVE! My old eyes can focus at distance and up close this way. I liked it so much I bought a larger version for my Savage .223. Very easy on the bank account. I have NEVER had bad luck with any Bushnell scope I have owned.
Nikon scopes are very nice from what I have seen as well. But when getting the extra options they can get spendy.
