I have an 870 express super magnum shot gun with a remmingtion Super full turkey choke tube. The choke tube says “Lead Only”. I’m wondering if I can shoot Winchester Extended Range HD loads through my tube without ruining it? Not sure what Extended’s are made out of, pretty sure it isn’t lead. Any thoughts?

from what i gather it is a long range no-tox shotshell, such as wingmaster hd, not sure of composition–tungsten?
I know there is a waterfowl load that is called this but my question to you is if this is for turkey’s, would’nt you rather shoot like a copper-buffered lead for distance and knock down??as far as the choke question goes, again this is just speculation on my part, it may have to do with the fact that lead gives–smooshes, ect. and these hd type shots do not causing damage to the tubes.

The extended HD shells were specifically designed for turkey. Due to its popularity, winchester made waterfowl loads with it. Its heavier and faster then lead so why wouldn’t have better nockdown at greater distances?
I’ve used these loads on turkeys for 3 years and love them. I have a different gun with a different choke, thats what sparked the initial question. Thanks for answering it.
