Has anyone tried these or have any input on them??? Since my Dad is recovering form Major surgery, we ar ein doubt he will enjoy taking the Whoopin from his 30.06. So I heard abotu these managed recoil rounds and curiosu to what others say about them. He will be having up to 220 yard shots in ND, but most of them here in MN will be less then a 100.

    Any input is appreciated!

Rob, I bought a bunch of 12 GA slugs a few years back for a young guy I took hunting and the recoil was next to nothing BUT the accuracy was terrible compared to a regular round. They dropped much more than a regular round… I know it is not a rifle round but it is the only experience I have with the reduced recoil rounds sorry….will be interested to hear any other opinions on this also.

Check out the Federal fusion ammo they offer a Fusion Lite 30-06 with a 170grain fusion bullet mv 100yds is 1740fps mv at 200yds is 1510fps. product # is F3006FSLR1. I have not shot this particular round myself, but I have shot some of the regular fusion ammo at the range for a buddy and it does shoot extremely well. My suggestion would be to find a box of this and try it out on some targets.

I am a gunsmith by trade and have a bad back and shoulder. The first thing that I do is put on a afrermarket recoil pad to reduce the recoil, then I put a mercury recoil reducer in the stock to add a little weight and reduce recoil, but the best thing that you can do is to either port the gun or get a muzzel break made for the gun (eather of these will increse noise bet reduce reciol).

Have you thought of having him shoot a .270 for this year. The recoil is less and you will get plenty of knockdown power at those ranges.

    Good luck.

Lip, I shoot these exclusively now. I shot these next to the standard round, no difference to 200 yards, in the .270 & 30.06
