Ok I bought a .270 that was mounted with a Bushnell adjustable 3x9x40. I took it to Bills Guns and range http://www.billsgs.com in Circle Pines to sight it in. After talking with the guy behind the counter (Cant remember is name) about the scope and getting it bored sighted it for me it was off to shoot.

I shot 5 rounds through it and it was right on @ 50 yards. So I decided to stop and go grab my little cousin to shoot her gun to make sure it was good for her.

Get back to Bills and they waved the lane fee because I had been there already. That was $20 bucks right there!

We get eyes and ears all set up, she sits down to shoot and got a little nervous. She asked be if I would shoot one so she could see that the .270 would not take her arm off. (14 old girl 1st time shooting a rifle. No problem.
I sit down rip one off and get WACKED by the scope I am like what the @$%&. Look on the floor to see the eye relief and the guts lying there

Case it up and head out to the boys to see what they can do. NOTHING scope is junked

Well they set me up with a Pentax adjustable 3x9x40 for $299.00 well not really this is the good part. They hooked us up with it for $111.00 bored sighted it and everything. Super nice guys up there. Cant say enough about the good people there! Way better then when it was armored fire, I hated that place!!

Anyways if I mail that scope to Bushnell will they fix it since I am not the original owner? I mean how often does scope fall apart in 2 pieces while shooting???

I had a ~1993 Bushnell 1.5-4.5X Sport-View model scope on my 30-06.I had it mounted and bore sighted by a gun-shop on the East Side. Took it to the range and it was off the paper @100yds. Back to the short range and many clicks later had it dialed in. Second box of shells it broke. Used iron sights for hunting. Got the replacement in the mail took it to the range and it broke on the 1st box of shells! I got the replacement scope and mounted it but never shot it until the next year. It broke on the first box of shells. I took it to work and unscrewed the eyepiece off of it. There was loc-tite by the reticle screws but not ON THE SCREWS! I fixed it myself and it now does .22 duty.

I finally went to a Leupold 3X-9X now that I could afford one and have never been happier!

    Good Luck,

    Ferny.

Thats why I haven’t owned one in a while. I love my Sheppard’s though. It cost me a lot more than I’m used to spending but I love it. Saves a ton of time zeroing too. IT has a two shot zero
