FYI Guy’s, I was shooting with my boy June 10th and got to do some practice pin shooting. It was a lot of fun even though I won’t be there for the real pin shoot.

They are also having a shoot for a few turkeys and a ham. The best time for 3 different distance stations shooting stationary clay pigeons with your pistol (wheel or auto). 3 pigeons for each distance fastest time wins the meat. You can have unlimited ammo for the meat shoot or until you give up! You can only win 1 meat and your done.

Here’s the clip from the Hudson Rod, Gun, and Archery Club newsletter:

Bowling Pin Shoot – Saturday, June 16th
10am-2pm. This event is a fun event open to the public so encourage your friends to get out to practice for the event. (The pistol range will be open for rapid fire practice on SUNDAY’s ONLY after 12:00pm.)
Cost on the event day is $5 per round. Cash prize payback. 1st place gets 40%

The game consists of shooting down all the bowling pins in the shortest amount of time.

    – Tie shoot off will be the fastest table cleared.

Just to clarify if you use a .22 they set the pins near the back edge of the plywood table. If you use a .45 or .44 Mag they put them towards the front of the table. I think .357 Mag and .40 cal are set in the middle of the table.

With a .45 ACP and 10mm they would fall totally off the table 75%-90% of the time. The .357 Mags seemed to have a harder time and they would have to take additional shots to knock the fallen pins off the table. I didn’t see anybody use a 9mm. while I was there.

    Have Fun,

    Ferny.
