My son purchased his first 12 gauge shotgun last night. He got a Benelli Nova pump that shoots up to 3 1/2 inch shells. He bought it at Cabela’s and got it for $90 below msrp. Just curious as to anyone who might own one and has good or bad comments concerning this gun. Thanks for any input you may have!!

Not a bad pump, the pump grip seems alittle big at first compared to a 870 or similar but you get used to it. Shoots well, I added a fiber optic site as I did not like the bead site. You should be able to dampen the recoil by removing the shoulder pad, the stock is hollow and has a spot for a dampener for the 3 1/2’s. Hope he likes it.

LOVE IT! I’ve shot my Nova for a number of years now. I personaly like the larger forarm on this gun. When things get cold it’s easier to hang onto with gloves.

Just make sure he watches what he leans it on. The matt finish will stracth easily on the side of a metal duck boat. Guess thats would fall under “User eror.”

Great Waterfowl gun for the money, but I would not want to carry it in the field chasing upland birds all day.
