Since any after work ice fishing trips seem to be on hold for now, looking at heating up the barrel of a few handguns at Bill’s in Circle Pines. Thinking this Thursday (12/14) 5-7pm –ish….. Anyone else?

December 15, 2006 at 3:02 pm #27217You have to check the site more often!
Have you shot the Tactical Thrusday before John?
I’ve been talking with Ryan about an IDA shoot that will be set up with moving and turning targets to spice up the shoots a bit. They will be timed and the amount of ammo shot will either make it harder for the experianced shooter or easier for the less experianced. The targets will be scored as a persentage…to compare with your own best score or with others.
It’s early yet as the course needs to be tested and programed into the target system. But it sound pretty fun.
…and of course there will be an IDA discount…in fact…Ryan was talking about not having a range fee that night…just a per shoot (or per course) fee.
I hope to have more info about this next Friday…
Hi Cap? Are you working Thursday night?

December 15, 2006 at 4:05 pm #27221Well, here is what you missed out on.
First video clip here is Brian shooting my .44 mag. The range master you hear in the background is informing my friend not to shoot aluminum casings at the range. Brass only. (That was new info for me too!)
Second shot here is me punching paper with the same .44. Man I love this gun. Being a lefty I have always enjoyed the simplicity of a good revolver. Dave, rest assured your old pistol is not collecting dust and gets used quite often! I replaced the stock grips with a set of pachmyers.
Third shot is Brian talking about sighting in his crimson trace lazer sites. I need to get one of those things!
Last shot is Brian plunking away towards the end of the shooing round.
Always fun to warm up the steel. Probably hit it here again soon.
