I am the proud new owner of a Savage 17HMR. What kind of scope do you guys recommend?

Grats. what will you be using it for most may help us help you. If you are looking at more open area maybe a 3x9x40.

The monark model is their tops, I’ve owned Leupold and some lesser brands and would never consider anything else. The power is going to depend on you but I’d think a 3by9 is a good all arounder. Unless you’r prairie dog hunting or the squirels are in a field…(but then there are fox) you might not need anything for that distance…but there’s an option.

September 20, 2006 at 1:05 pm #20957I have a Bushnell Banner on mine 4-12 w/AO. Works great have shot prairie dogs all the way to 300yrds.Remember wind really affects the 17.
