I am the proud new owner of a Savage 17HMR. What kind of scope do you guys recommend?

Grats. what will you be using it for most may help us help you. If you are looking at more open area maybe a 3x9x40.
They make 30 to 100 yard shots nice and clear.

Tom, just my 2 cents but Nikon makes as good of scopes as higher priced brands. The monark model is their tops, I’ve owned Leupold and some lesser brands and would never consider anything else. The power is going to depend on you but I’d think a 3by9 is a good all arounder. Good luck on the varmits! Randy

Of course I have to get my 02 cents in here…but I just want to point out the hmr will shoot up to 200 yards…

Unless you’r prairie dog hunting or the squirels are in a field…(but then there are fox) you might not need anything for that distance…but there’s an option.
