Who says you can’t mix fishing and shooting??

Many thanks to Bill’s Gun Shop and Range and an extra special thanks to Theresa Ritter for holding a very informative class…and taking extra time with student #3.

I thought he did very well will Momma home and expecting! Wish see could have made it too.

I have to say…I could feel the nervousness in the room prior to the qualification shoot….and I would be the first to admit that the last 10 rounds at 50 feet would have me stuttering a bit too.

Everyone did very well in class and the shooting portion…as we have 5 new permit holders if they choose to apply for the permit to carry.

    Congrats!!!

Well in #3 was a tad nervous , not so much about passing the test, he just assumed he was going to fail…

I was actually more nervous about the shooting in general and time limits, being only the second time I shot my hand gun, 3 time ever shooting a hand gun, I’ve also never ventured to try and shoot one handed, not yet anyways, so teh one handed thing was really unnatural to me, I figured once I was proficient shooting two handed than I could work on all that hollywood stuff I did really want to pass it the first time so I tried my best to shoot good, I ended up scoring a 237 out of 250 (needed 170 to pass), not like it was the hardest test in the world either, though I’m glad I passed and I’m done with the class! The 10 shots at 50 foot was crazy, I don’t think I’ll attempt to shoot that far again short of maybe trying to plink some cans with some friends.

I did have a chance to really figure out my XD9 fits my hand very good, I was way, way more relaxed this time at the range than I was first time out with the gun(I went alone) I and feel were going to spend some long hours getting to know each other much, much better.

All in all it was a good class, and I have a lot of reading and lots and lots of practice before I’ll actually carry, so fear not.

It was good fun and a good time, I only wish we could’ve finished up a tad earlier so we could’ve had time to shoot afterwards.

We’ll have to try and get some IDA’ers together for some of thier training nights.

Big thanks to Brian K, Bills Gun Range (everyone that works there is great, really), and IDA.

Brian. That was an excellent class. I still can’t download the video though…Lots of homework and yes lots of practice time. The time shooting was very unerving but I settled down eventually. I still don’t understand where that red dot came from
