When it comes to the use of deadly force in self defense, minnesota has a mandatory retreat policy… if you can do so safely. This includes in your house, car, and place of business. Minnesota is looking at adopting a “Castle Doctrine” .
A Castle Doctrine basically states that if a someone/bad guy breaks into your house, car, or place of business (while your in them) you can PRESUME they are going to commit great bodily harm or death and you may use any force to against them.
