And I was just sitting at home, waiting for “tomorrow”
Unreal, I know better than to never miss an IDA event if at all possible.June 22, 2006 at 3:33 am #455428And I was just sitting at home, waiting for “tomorrow”
Unreal, I know better than to never miss an IDA event if at all possible.June 22, 2006 at 5:27 pm #18078Right now with summer upon us we are not offering our tacticl tuesday training, however starting in Sept. we will start that up. I do help out with that and from the sounds of it will either be instructing either tactical tuesdays or advanced handgun this fall. Tactical tuesdays will be on tuesdays and advanced handgun will be on wendsdays. i will keep you informed on exact date and times as i find them out myself. I of course am only the range manager.
any time that you can get the interest set up for some kind of class, whether concealed carry, basic handgun shooting, advanced carry what ever, let me know and i can set up a class just for you guys. something to think of.

June 22, 2006 at 9:08 pm #18083Not a problem. Tactical Tuesdays is a training class that occurs every Tuesday (hence the name) at Bills Gun Shop and Range in Robbinsdale. The class ranges from basic fundamentals to shoot-don’t-shoot situations to use of cover. it is an excellent answer to “I have my concealed carry permit, now what!!!!!”
We rotate weeks of the month. The first tuesday of the month we focus more on shooting fundamentals, front sight trigger squeeze, distance, reloads, malfunction clearances etc.
The second week we might do more shoot-don’t-shoot scenarios. usually having tac-man targets (look like mannequin’s) dressed in shirts and hats. we will do scenarios, like resteraunt, your home, the street etc.
the third week we focus on steel shooting, sillhouetes, 5 inch plates, 8 inch plates, dueling tree’s, hostage steel etc. shooting steel, especially in a competition mode is a very humbling experience. this is when the true “spray and pray” strategy comes out and is proven ineffective.
week four brings movement, shooting from cover, and clearing doors.(this is not a class to teach you how to clear your house, that is what the cops are for, however if you should ever need to get to another room to get to a loved one, you will have the appropriate skills.
the class is $35, runs 6-9pm, allows you to work from a holster and from concealment. there are few chances for civilians to work this way after they get their concealed carry permit. you will find your skills growing week by week, but is situated that if you miss a week your not out of the loop.
I help instruct the class, and weeks im not instructing you will find me shooting along with you.this class will be starting up the second week in sept. i will keep you guys posted in any changes in curriculum or dates. this class may work into a 6-8 week rotation. and also we will be having a similar class on wendsdays starting in the fall
thank you much
