I was going to buy a Ruger 9mm, we ended up “getting talked into” a Springfield XD 9mm (4 inch barrel) , we liked the over feel of the gun a little better, and it’s suppose to be better quality. I also like the “safety” on this gun much more than the ruger. Bought it at Gander mountain, got a good price on a new gun, techincally it’s still on layaway at the moment.

Talk to me about our new gun, anyone have one? anything to say about this gun (good or bad, It won’t hurt my feelings)

This is a very nice gun! I know Brian K’s daughters boyfriend just bought the .40. I am waiting for the .45 to come out in the sub compact. You chose well!

I shot the XD-40 subcompact over the weekend…

Same size and (almost)weight as the Glock 26 which I have.

With the added safety of the grip safety…it has a SWEET trigger pull! I liked the round in chamber indicater…but didn’t see a reason for the firing pin indicator. I wouldn’t rely on either…but seemed nice to have.

Very nice handgun!!! Congrats on both “baby’s”!

ugh I can’t believe I waited til now to reply back

Thanks for all the input guys, I trusted the guy at the gun counter, and after doing some research on my own ( after I bought the gun ) It looks like we are going to be really happy with it.

Been a lot of other priorities, that have popped up over the last 2 months or so, but I finally got to pick up my gun yesterday, it’s just feels good. I think I will really, really like this gun. I hope to try and make it out to the range today, and put some rounds through it. We’ll see, it’s our first hand gun, and I don’t think I 100% comfortable enough to go alone and just shoot, so I’ll see if Burnsville gun range has an instructor available or something.

    Nick…you know I’m a Bill’s kinda guy…but….

When I took my wife and daughter to the circle pines Store Pete spent close to an hour with the favorite wife and daughter..he didn’t want a penny…

And I believe you met Steve who could have you laughing so hard…you can’t shoot!

I haven’t spent enough time at the Robinsdale location to know if they have time for informal instruction…so I can’t say for sure…

Help support our sponsors…and givem a looky see!

CONGRADULATIONS ON THE NEW GUN NICK, EXCELLENT CHOICE!! BRIANK GAVE A GREAT OVER ALL OF BILLS NORTH STORE. HERE IN ROBBINSDALE WE ARE TYPICALLY A LITTLE BUSIER, HOWEVER ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE PRIDE OUR SELVES ON IS TAKING TIME OUT FOR THE CUSTOMER TO GO OVER THEIR GUN WITH THEM, GETTING THEM 100% COMFORTABLE WITH THIER FIREARM, AND ALSO HELPING THEM OUT A BIT WITH SHOOTING ISSUES, SUCH AS ACCURACY, MALFUNCTIONS, AND QUESTIONS. AS AN INSTRUCTOR I CAN ALSO OFFER ONE-ON-ONE TRAINING TO GET YOU WHERE YOU WANT TO BE.

THE XD EXTREME (4″ BARREL) IS A GREAT GUN THAT HAS A FEW ADDED THINGS OVER THE GLOCK. THE LOADED CHAMBER INDICATOR IS A GREAT THING, YOU DONT HAVE TO PRESS-CHECK THE GUN EVERY TIME YOU QUESTION THE STATE OF YOUR GUN. THE COCKED INDICATOR IS NICE BUT AS MENTIONED USUALLY NOT NECESSARY. THE GRIP SAFETY MAKES THE GUN A STAGE BETWEEN A NO SAFE GUN AND A MANUAL SAFE GUN. HOWEVER REMEMBER YOU ARE THE SAFETY OF THE GUN.

ANY OTHER QUESTIONS, WOULD BE HAPPY TO ANSWER
