Quote:
Today the Kansas House of Representatives passed the “Personal and Family
Protection Act” shall-issue concealed carry bill by a vote of 90 to 33. The
number of votes is far more than needed to override the governor’s promised
veto. The bill now heads back to the Senate for concurrence. A few weeks ago, the
Senate passed the bill by a 29 to 11 majority, with two more votes than
required to override a veto.If supporters are successful in overriding the governor’s veto, Kansas will
become the 38th shall-issue state, and the 47th state to have some provision
for citizens to carry weapons for self defense. That would leave Nebraska,
Illinois and Wisconsin as the only states to completely prohibit concealed
carry.Nebraska, however, appears to be ready to pass their shall-issue bill, and
the governor there has promised to sign it.If you’re feeling angry about being left behind, you should be. There is no
reason why Wisconsin should be left as one of the last two holdouts. As long as we have Jim Doyle as governor, we’re going to be fighting a tough
uphill battle to get concealed carry. If we can help defeat Governor Doyle in the fall elections, and keep a
Republican majority in the Senate and the Assembly, we’ll have a shall-issue
bill signed into law early next year.To that end, our political action committee–the WCCM–is aggressively
raising funds to contribute to pro-gun candidates. We need your help. You can contribute via PayPal by going to our site at
http://www.wisconsinconcealedcarry.org. Or you can send a contribution by
mail to: WCCM, 3263 S. 45th Street, Milwaukee, WI 53219.The WCCM is all-volunteer, just like the WCCA. All contributions will go to
candidates who favor concealed carry. If you want concealed carry, please contribute. It’s that simple.
