It’s a perfect analogy. The only boat that is sinking is Doyle’s. His veto will be overridden and shall issue will be law in Wi.
Get use to it. It will happen.

January 26, 2006 at 11:51 pm #14424I got a chuckle when Doyle vetoed the bill to CC, yet he is protected by armed guards everywhere he goes…Oh the irony .

My ole’ man is a retired police lieutenant and swat instructor so I always give our law enforcers the respect they deserve for protecting us.

January 27, 2006 at 2:20 am #14466I think individuals need to bear the responsibility of training and continued proficiency when they choose to carry. Just like anything in life. Just because I know how to fish doesn’t mean I can stop now, and fish with the same proficiency as I did when I fished often. Same thing with my deer guns. Going to the range and tweaking them is the responsible thing to do. A CC gun, or any hand gun should be practiced with if you plan to stay current at the level of proficiency you have today. I went through the police training, and it is quite different when you train to end a situation, or insert yourself into it. I did many of the “Shoot/Don’t shoot” courses. I do not recommend these for CC people. I do recommend scenario shoots at a range of your chosing. Paper plates, 5,10,15 feet if it allows. Practice firing from a draw, like you would in a real life situation. Over, and over, and over.
Will everyone do it? Probably not. But if the poop ever hits the proverbial fan, your proficiency will be called into question.January 27, 2006 at 2:20 am #415019I think individuals need to bear the responsibility of training and continued proficiency when they choose to carry.
