Terrova I-Pilot "F" fault on remote when footpedal not connected?

I had some issues with my Terrova I-pilot last week and took it in for warranty service to my local service center after doing some troubleshooting over the phone with a Minnkota Tech. I got a phone call from the service center asking if I always had an “F” fault code on my remote when not using the foot pedal and attempting to get the Autopilot to function with the remote. Nope, I had never used the foot pedal! Any one ever see this? The tech was working with Minnkota but no idea. In the end, the head had to be replaced because of other issues with the advanced autopilot freaking out and wrapping the cord until it was unplugged.

I wouldn’t call myself a minnkota expert but I have seen plenty of them and worked on a number of them. I have never seen that issue, heard of that issue, or been asked about that issue. I don’t have a clue what that could mean.
It sounds like a I-pilot head issue either way.
