My terrova is almost two seasons old an I’m noticing the shaft is starting to wobble while deployed. I’ve also noticed its gotten more loose. For example a big wave comes through and the shaft will sway back and forth. I make a moderate steering adjustment and it will sway. I’m sure its designed to have some give to absorb shock, but it seems like its getting worse. Anyone else notice this? Can I do anything to tighten it? I’ve read through the owners manual and looked all over minn kota site and can find any info.

I’m not 100% sure I understand where the wobble is by the way you describe it, but check your blade/prop or replace with a new one to see if the balance problem is there. Other than that, I got nuttin.

The entire motor head/shaft will sway about 10 degrees either direction. Prop is fine.

At almost 2 seasons old, would it not be under warranty, and let the repair shop deal with it?

I bought the motor “refurbished” from cabelas so it only had a 1 year warranty. It’s not bad and I’m not too worried about it. I was more so trying to determine if it’s a simple fix. I’m not very interested in bringing it to a service dealer during peak season.

I’ll look into that #475. thanks Trumar.
