Let me preface it with props to the kid. That’s bigger than than any I’ve caught and I’m not so sure if I would have released it when I was his age.

But 100lbs? That’s not even a knock against the kid, its a knock about the person reporting…unless you guys thinks that’s bigger than 85lbs.

Assuming you found this from an article claiming 100 pounds?

Pretty strong kid to lift up a 100# flatty.
I’m going to go with maybe 50# and should probably say 35# after looking at the size of the kids gloved hand on the tail. No F’n way he’s lifting a 100#r.

What do you think a 100#r would measure BK?
I’m thinking it’ll need to exceed 60″ and a girth near 40″ but totally guessing here.

I’ve caught 3 between 50-53 pounds. Off the top of my head their measurements were:
    46×31
    47×29
    48×29.5

Eitherway we have a Jr Cat Man in the making!!

Sure would be nice if there were some measurements in the article. Whatever it weighed, it’s a huge fish.

It is awesome to see a kid catch a fish like that and even better that he has been taught the ethics of fishing. Someone is doing a good job raising that kid and he’s hooked for life I’m sure. That being said…. it ain’t no 100lbs. google the record setting cats and see what 100 lbs looks like, He is holdin a 55 lb cat imo.

P.S. Nice avatar FBRM, when did you change it?
