My one comment on this thread.

They can destroy every flag, topple every statue, rename every park, city, town tied to race. Exactly one minute after all mention of the holocaust is wiped out of all books, video ect world wide.

We learn from our mistakes.

You need to draw the line somewhere, This crap of “I’m butt hurt or my forefathers were butt hurt be these mean people in the past” needs to stop. It’s history, get over it.you can’t change what happened in the past before any of us walked the earth.

We were not one nation during the civil war, we were two. Those men who died for the south deserve to be honored as well. Of course they were on the wrong side but that does not mean they should be erased from history.

George Washington was a slave owner. I suppose we should topple all his statues and why stop there? He should really be removed from the $1 bill. How shameful he is on there in the first place? Where does it stop???

Any thoughts on who to replace him with? Maybe a person thats recently been in the news a lot and recently honored by some.

How insensitive of me. I didn’t think this through enough. We’ll also need to rename cities, counties, and streets all across the country, of course.

A tribal band member can tear down a statue to protest something they don’t like. Does that mean a guy can keep a few fish out of Mille Lacs to protest tribal netting by the tribal bands?

Please… It is not about history. Statues are not history lessons. Statues are there to honor individuals and the causes they stood for.

Hitler happened yet we do not have statues honoring him.
Benedict Arnold is a huge part of American history and yet no statues honoring him.
Sadam was the leader of Iraq and all of his statues are gone. But we still know who all of these people are and the part they played in history.
