I have a 32″ panfish sweetheart tip broke off about 1″. Does anyone around the Winona Mn area repair rod tips? Thanks!

Thanks for the offer Trumar. Don’t get that way to often. I’m going North next week maybe I just swing past TB and see what they can do for me. Thanks.
Have them add a trip wire to the tip. Cost $15. You will love it!

A different word for spring bobber serves same purpose
I agree with Kent, the trip wire is an awesome addition and basically turns you’re rod into a noodle type and a feeling type rod. I have em on both my quiverstick and panfish sweetheart, and am more than thankful for having that option on the many tough bites I’ve been on. Good luck.
I agree with Tim, taking an inch off the tip of an ice rod is going to change the action and power quite a bit.
I’d have Thorne wrap the components on a new rod if they do it for $35 (really only $35?).

That’s all I was charged a few weeks ago.

I have 2 different spring bobbers I got from TB when I bought this rod. They snap into the front eye of the rod. They handle different weight jigs. Is the tripwire something different?
also if I am using these spring bobbers would it make a huge difference with that first inch of the rod missing? Thanks for all the feedback!

With -1″ on the perch sweetheart there won’t be much action anymore. It’ll be really stiff now but I suppose you could just use the springs you got from Thorne and be ok. I still think your best option is to have Thorne rebuild it.
I heated up the old tip and pulled off the end piece that was in it. The original tip eye still fit on the rod blank. I glued it back on and its as good as ever minus 1″ of the tip. Thanks Guys.
Shawn
Sorry for the late response but yes the trip wire is built into the type of the rod making it an extension of your blank.
