Taxidermist in MN Metro area

I am looking for some recommendations for a taxidermist for a deer shoulder mount. I’ve never shot one big enough to mount, but got lucky this year! I’ve been trying to do some research, but not finding a ton of reviews for local taxidermists. I would prefer metro area if possible but not necessary.

Also, what was the turnaround you experienced? The first place I reached out to said at least 12 months and that seems long, but again I don’t have experience with this. My Google searches are saying anywhere from 6-18 months.

    Thanks in advance!

Didn’t read your whole question. Mine took between 6-12 months. If you brought it in now it would be quicker then waiting til later in the season when they already have a bunch in front of you.

The second one was shot in the throat just below the white patch. Hole was about the size of a softball. Had three large cuts on left side where it got cut dragging over fallen pine trees a bunch of hair removed. He offered me a new cape but I wanted its real one so fixed as best as they could it look surprisingly good all things considered.

Chris Wallace- Wings and Things Taxidermy in Ham Lake. Only have 1 done by him, its 10 years old and it absolutely jumps off the wall compared to the others I have had done since then. I moved away from the cities but he is absolutely the best. He does all of Lee and Tiffany Lakosky’s stuff every year.
    Congrats on a great buck.

Congrats on the nice buck, Matt! How exciting! In 2010 I shot a nice buck and had him mounted from John’s Taxidermy in Hastings. John did a great job was was a joy to work with. The turn around time was almost a year though I think. Very much worth the wait to see this beauty in my living room!
