So my goal this winter is to figure out where the big channel catfish live in a few local lakes that have decent populations of big channels.
Both are shallower lakes, both confirmed have great catfish populations even after last years hard winter where several other species didn’t survive too well.
I am going to try to focus my fall fishing on these two lakes narrowing down my search of where these fish might congregate during winter.
Nobody fishes these lakes for channels in the winter, i think i may just stumble upon a Gem or two real close to home.
Thinking i’ll start searching with SI, then anchoring/cutbait and/or strolling/drifting cutbait.
Any advice to figure out where catfish winter in lakes??
