Taper Loc seat posts

    I have the taper loc seat posts in my Lund boat and once you sit on them you cannot get them out of the floor. I have thought about cutting a small thin washer and putting it on the bottom of the post. Anyone have any other ideas

    Typically requires a pretty good wiggle to get it to come out.
    If you add a washer shim it will not wedge, and therefore the seat will rock.

    You can try to lubricate the post, but generally a strong wiggle is required to free them up enough to lift them. PIA if you move seats a lot.

    When I had taper locks i put a little sow seal wax on the taper. Still required keeping rubber mallet in boat to strike the post to vibrate loose. If you do washer seat may come lose dumping passenger potentially causing injury or flying out of boat.little bit of wax allows locking tab to snap in
