Just installed 12 ft Talon on a quick release bracket . Where the shaft goes through the 2 plates has some play. Anyone have this issue ? Wiggles enough , wondering if there is a solution to tighten it up . Temporarily put some wood shims in front and behind that cross shaft and does help . Looking for a better fix . Thanks Don

Can you post some photos? I have a tilt bracket on my Talon and it doesn’t even wiggle but didn’t even know they made a quick release bracket.

Same, mine is almost too tight. The kick lever sticks a bit when disengaging before tilting. I’m using a setback block, so I might try removing that and mounting the tilt bracket directly to the transom.

I have no play at all on mine. Can you post a photo of how it’s mounted?

Is yours mounted directly to the transom or on a sandwich breaker? Mine is mounted to a bracket because my transom is irregularly shaped. It’s solid as a rock. No wiggle or give.

I assume you’re specifically talking about when it’s in the upright position. When it’s down/tilted, it’s loose. They aren’t designed to be hauled down the road or the lake when tilted down.

Yes im talking about when its upright . It will move back and forth some . It is mounted on tilt bracket which is mounted to transom

There shouldn’t be any play if that’s the case. Should be rock solid. When deployed and there are waves, I could see that being an issue. I would check every screw and bolt to ensure they are tight. If there is still some wiggle, contact the dealer who installed them.

Nothing jumps out at me from the photos. I’ll take some photos of mine when I get a chance and post them for a comparison.

I got a reply from Minn Kota and they said they will sending a replacement . Problem is its 5200 it the transom . Will see if heat will be able to release the bond to remove it ?

When you posted your photo, I had noticed a thin layer of white material in between the bracket and your transom. I thought this might be the reason for some wiggle.

If Minn Kota says the 5200 was the problem, why would they send a new bracket?
I’m not sure how that’d be their fault.
I must be missing something but I know they do have good customer service.
Even so I still don’t really understand why overapplying 5200 would cause play in the bracket if the mounting bolts are tightened to specs.

Gimruis ,The wiggle is between the 2 plates at the pivot . 5200 is recommended for install , some squished out It was not moving anywhere else

Exactly the wiggle was coming at the pivot nowhere else . Minn Kota said the floor model they had , has no wiggle . Thats why they were sending a replacement . The 5200 squeezed out and that was fine , zero problem with that , actually shows i have a good seal LOl
