This will be a similar post to what I posted around this time last year, but I feel it’s important.
Last Sunday the 18th was this year’s Take a Vet Fishing day on Lake Minnetonka. For those that don’t know, TAVF is an organization sets up days for guides to take veterans out fishing, followed by a ceremony and lots of giveaways to the veterans. I’ve attended this the last two years now and have been completely blown away and humbled by the event. One of the group’s founders said this year that when they formed this non-profit group they specifically put in their by-laws that none of the board members could ever receive any money or gifts for their involvment, which is one of the many examples of this groups doing this purely to thank veterans.
There’s also a lot of sponsors for the event, which help pay for meals, drinks, equipment, as well as donating prizes and other giveaways (every veteran walked away with a new rod and reel this year).
If there’s any veterans on here that are interested for the future, look up Take a Vet Fishing and consider attending next year.
If there’s any guides on here or others that helped in any way, thank you very much for volunteering your time and/or money and equipment for this fun day.
