How do they attract the Sturgeon to that trap or a better way of asking is how do they trap (net…) them? Really cool pix…RR

My guess is that the commercial fisherman get them in their big seine net as an inadvertent catch when they’re seining for carp and buffalo. They must place them in that little holding pen for the biologists until they tag them. There’s a commercial fishing operation that seines that area early every spring it seems. But that’s just my guess.

Boone, you are correct, a buddy of mine said he walked down to the Prescott Beach and was watching and saw them emptying the nets. He said there were a lot of nice eyes in it

There is no such thing as a “nice eye”.

They’ve been netting there in the spring for a very long time. Every fish in the river is in that corner this time of year.
