Tacoma/Colorado

Not many trucks come with Toe Hooks anymore, I know my Ram and most half tons don’t have them. Even finding a 6’4″ box is difficult, my dealership reached out and offered me 2k less than I bought my truck for after 3 years and 50k miles driven, but that was my one requirement on a new one and they didn’t have one and didn’t have one not already bought coming to the lot anytime soon. Plus the money didn’t work out, as it would add 4 years to my loan and an extra $100+ month on the payment.

I have a 2018 silverado crew with 6.5 box 41k miles. I was offered 39k for my truck (paid 38) but same thing, I cannot find a replacement. I thought about just selling mine and driving my sons Envoy that I have parked because he bought something else. I need a pickup for hunting so I would need to replace it soon though, but no guarantees they couldnt even give me an idea of when they might get something. An extended cab could perhaps work, but those are few and far between too.

our independent mechanic who has been a GM guy for as long as i remember said the avg cost of repair on a colorado is much more than the tacoma. and he said he sees more colorados than tacomas even though he get toyota overflow from the local dealership.

i swapped out my GM for a F150 and he won’t even talk to me.

    That new ford looks bada$$.

The thought of rolling up to the movie theatre this fall to watch top gun 2 in a new Maverick is pretty tempting.

Spoke with a dealer on it, we’ll see.

Thanks for info fellas, amazed how much I’m out of the loop with this stuff.

I understand that AutoNation Ford in WBL will have a training unit on-site at 11am today (the 24th). Here’s the one I just saw down the street from me.

A ton of great info here to all. Thank you very much to everyone.

The maverick was leading the pack until I saw a pic of it in comparison to others, tiny!

I can be a squirrel which pays off sometimes and then others it drives me nuts. Decided my groceries need more room so went back to a Yukon and went up to an XL. smash doah

The 2022 Next Gen Tundra will be an interesting story to watch. The only complaint I’ve heard of on Tundra’s is the MPG at 13/17. The new gen Tundra is shooting for 30 MPG. Makes me wonder if reliability will be sacrificed for MPG.

With the new technology they will have to use to achieve that mpg it would be impossible to be as reliable as the 3rd generation models. Having said that when compared to the other brands which are all also heading in that direction using similar technology I would still think tundra will rise above the others for reliability ratings

back to a Yukon and went up to an XL

Did u stick with the 6.2L? My 2007 yukon XL was the nicest vehicle I’ve ever owned by the 5.3L was a little sluggish. Up until I believe last year year 6.2L engine also didn’t use the cylinder deactivation technology which is a good thing

My problem with all of these smaller trucks is that as a crew cab, the backseat is just so small. I guess it’s good for kids or for additional locked, dry storage, but other than that, forget it for having adults back there.

But I get why guys get them. They have V6s more powerful than the V8s in the F150s and Silverados from 15 years ago.

It’s true but I do find it funny when I think back to my grandpas 1992 chevy S-10 with the jump seats. Rode many a mile in those as a youngster. As a matter of fact I had a 2001 ranger about 4 years ago and I used to roll around with my child seat in the passenger seat and my wife would sit in the extended cab on the jump seats. Worked out ok.

Times change and whats acceptable does too. Just like you mentioned with today’s V6 engines having more power than the V8s of the 80s and 90s

No crappie, went back to the 5.3l. Got the towing package with TBC, we’ll see how it goes.

Getting rid of the big boat and downsizing, although have 2 campers at my disposal which will be testing it, looking forward to it.

Got to draw a line somewhere, wasn’t wanting to get back into 6.2l prices and miles with my budget.

I owned a 2007 Tacoma, it was a great truck that gave me no issues. Sold it with 175K on it to get a Tundra. It’s hard to beat the reliability of a Toyota.

I thought this was the case too and when my wife wanted to upgrade I said only look at Denalis and Escalades with the 6.2. She bought a 2012 and we come to find out it indeed has AFM.
