Haven’t given it much thought yet. I’ll probably be at Mille Lacs at midnight for eyes. Depending on what is going on at the Grumpy Old Man Hole I may fish there at dawn, then get in the boat and fish Platte/Sullivan in the morning hoping I can find a topwater bite.

Ill be in the metro. Hopefully pitching some jigs, frogs, spinners, or jerkbaits. Depending on water temps by then!
I’ll be in the Northeast Metro on a lake that I will leave selfishly unnamed. Holding out hope that we can get on some spawning fish when it does finally roll aruond.
My ‘Opener’ will be the Monday after the real opener. It’ll be the start of 11 days of vacation. I’ll be on Mille Lacs chasing bass that first day, probably by ripping jerkbaits into shallow rockpiles on the south end. Next day, I’ll likely be on the NW end chasing shallow walleyes with swimbaits.
I’ll be out there in the early morning darkness pitching this big black popper. Can’t wait!

I might see you out there Steve if you’re going where I think you’re going. I had the boat out there yesterday for the first time of the year.
Yup, you know where I’ll be! That is, if I can get there. I see they’re going to tear apart the 494/694/94 interchange. Two years ago ideal avenue was closed the whole summer. Last summer my neighborhood was all torn up, I had to back the boat all the way down the alley and out onto a side street. In the dark. At least I got a little better at backing up. This might be the year I find fly fishing opportunities on Pool 2.
