I’ve got the itch for a new handgun. I don’t need one, I shouldn’t buy one, and the FW won’t be on board…but I really want one!

Good grief Ralph, thought someone had died after just reading the title. And now reading your message, this could still be true if you get that Roscoe without her permission! lol

Dude, you are 3/4 of the way there! That’s exactly how I feel right before every handgun purchase.
All you have to do now is buy it!!

ps-I too thought something was wrong when I read original title. Jesus Ralph! )

The first step to admitting you have a problem is BUY THE GUN. Then you know you have a problem. Problem solved!

I want a new one also Ryan. Maybe we should go shopping. Im stuck between the new striker fire LC9 and the shield. I brought my buddy to my range a few months ago. He is a BIG gun guy. I totally outshot him with his own shield. I thought it was hillarius, he did not. yay

This whole mess here…… is where being single has WELL DEFINED advantages! No clearance needed. If the funds are there, impulses and wishes have a way of turning dreams into reality!

Funny story…… my nephew was under a lot of pressure to propose to his girlfriend a couple of years ago and he said he wasn’t sure if she was a keeper or not. So I asked what will suffice that determination and he said, “When she buys me a gun, I’ll know I got a keeper!”

I need to work on my, “Oh, that. I’ve had that one for a long time,” face!

You know, women do that too. With shoes, purses, or in my case, an odd obsession with collecting hoodies… It’s seriously getting to the point where I need another closet. roll

You, too? Sometimes, I think my wife has more hoodies than I have total shirts.

I honestly believe behind every happy man there is a woman that at least tries to understand what it is that makes a man fulfilled. I’ve been hopelessly in love with my wife for over 28 years. The very first night we went on a date, she asked me what all I was into.

Me-“My priorities in life are -I fish, I trap, and I hunt. Not necessarily in any particular order since it takes all my time all year long”
Her response “So your point is if I want to see you I have to go along?”
    Me – “Yep”

Almost 7 years later I get a phone call from her while I’m working – ” You want to get married on Aug 1st?”
    Me – Why Aug 1st?
Vickie – “I checked your calendar, no tournaments that weekend, no hunting seasons, and your not trapping yet.”
In that moment I knew I would be a flipp’n idiot if I didn’t marry her

I pretend to understand why she has jeans for every freaking day of the month and 15 different coats that she will never wear. In return, I have all the firearms I need/want, all the fishing rods I desire, and a garage that could serve as a distribution center for Cabelas. HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY

Awesome post, Randy! Melts my heart! I met Billy when I was 16. He made it very clear that hunting will always be a priority in his life, so I said “Let’s go!” I was already an enthusiastic angler, and the more time we spent together, the more I fell in love with Billy and hunting at the same time. We actually ending up picking August 4th as our wedding date for those same reasons! As much tools and crap he has stuffed in the garage, the scrapbooking room really isn’t much different. It’s a good balance. <3

I think I’m going to get a 1911 this year. Not for any practical reason–if there is such a thing–just wanted one and thought they’d be fun.

The practical side of me says get a .40 or a 9 MM. Cheaper to shoot, less hassle, etc. I haven’t found one that’s that interesting to me though.

I’ve got a while to think about it. I just blew my Yearly Toy Allocation on an AR. Which is totally fun, btw.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m sure my wife would be fine with it, but with two young children, a new-to-us house that needs furnishing, and vacation planning, the angel on my right shoulder is overpowering the devil on my left. I know my priorities, and a new toy for Dad is low on the list right now. I’ll get by–just let a guy whine a bit! )

I was in that exact same situation 19 years ago. Bassboat was sitting in my driveway when we got back from a doctors apt. Just happened that I was going to need some motivation for telling my wife all the lies that we need to following child birth, changing diapers, and trying to adjust to not fishing and hunting as much. The look on her face was priceless and she was speechless. I assumed she was happy for me and the no sex was all related to child birth. I’m sure it had nothing to do with the boat. Though i thought the doc said 6 weeks…not 6 months doah

Ryan Speaking of your new home go rake that section of the garage roof and tell your wife you just saved enough money to buy a new gun!

Hope your house is treating you well.

Ha! Actually, what snow we’ve had hasn’t really been an issue there. The house is treating us well. Had a few unexpected expenses like a new water softener and the shower in our master bath leaked through the ceiling, but other than that, we’re really happy.
