This is kind of short notice, but I am leaving for the Pierre, SD area from LaCrosse, WI Tuesday the 30th around 3:30. I have room for an additional 2 people. More can come if you drive separately. We will have a place to stay at my families home (overlooking Okobojo Bay), plus they have additional motorhome that sleeps 6. I will be returning the following Sunday. In return I would hope for the opportunity for Slop Bass and I to do some bow and/or gun hunting. Let me know if you are interested this year or in following years.

    Thanks,
    Justin

Let me chime in and say this is the deal of a lifetime. Hunting with Jack and Justin is a great time and within 5 minutes of walking in their door you are part of the family. The hunting is great and the hospitality is beyond that. I bet a few will be tipped at the Okobojo Resort in the evening too. Justin, enjoy your trip and tell you Mom and Dad I said Hi. Maybe we can hook up over Thanksgiving or Christmas.

    If I wasn’t at Evert’s already I’d love to!

IF I wasnt too busy already I’d jump on this. I do have access to plenty of family farmland for deer hunting though

I bet that would be a good trip. I saw a show on the outdoor channel where some guys were hunting around Pierre, S.D. A place called Scatter Gun Resort. Looked like a good time.

Scatter Gun isn’t hunting, that is shooting. You had better bring your checkbook too. We shoot all wild birds where we go and you hunt them. If the birds are too skiddish and hard to get under, we have an Ace in the hole.

Ace in the hole – I can sure vouch for that

Sounds like you have a nice place to hunt – hard to find these days.

    Ron,
I still smile every time I think of their “ace in the hole” spot. It was 2 weeks after my heart attack last Dec. and I wasn’t suppose to walk much. Justin said “no problem” and we hit this spot. I had my 3 birds in about half an hour and so did the other 3 in our group. If you have never seen pheasants pick up off the fields like blackbirds and set back down it is a sight to behold. There were literally thousands of birds in this area. It won’t be quite that good this time of year cause the birds aren’t concentrated yet but there will be alot of birds. The funny part is that shooting the birds wasn’t near as much fun as shooting the bull with Jack,Justin and their families after the hunt. Wish I was there now but family obligations made it so it didn’t work out this time.

Wow, what a place to hunt. Sorry to hear of the heart attack. I hope you are doing ok now. You know as we get older, we have these problems to deal with sometimes. When I was younger, never even thought about health problems -thought I was invincible. Now different parts quit working almost daily lol.
