Just wanted thank you for inviting me to fish with you this past Friday. I have always learned something new from each person I have fished with and you were no exception.

I have sent you a check for $200 to repair the small dent and scratches on your boat that you kindly suggested to everyone and I, at the FYB weigh-in, that I had possibly done. Since you are well aware, it did take me two attempts to get it onto your trailer. This action on my part is not committed to blame but to be proactive and reduce any ill feelings you seem to bare. For the life of me, I cannot recall how I may have done it or how it possibly could have occurred due to the location of the damage, but nonetheless to bar any further friction or accusations I deemed it necessary to compensate you to lessen any negative intercourse. Please accept my complete apology on how you feel.

If this amount is inadequate, please feel free to contact me with the estimate and I would be more than happy to cut you another check for the difference.
