I’ll be going out early on pool 14, will have an open seat.

Tentative plan is to go out around 5:00am and pitch plastics, then maybe head to the dam and do a little sauger jigging/rigging as well. I will be able to pick up at later time if necessary. Quit time is open ended!

    John,

Tentative plans are for Gianni and me to be one pool up from you on Monday. If the bite is slow at Bellevue, you might see us in the big, ugly green boat show up at Fulton for lunch… We’re not 100% sure where we’re going yet, but it will be 12,13, or 14. The plan is jig below the rollers and/or head downstream and pull 3-ways with rogues/raps.

With gas at over $2/gallon, we will probably be spending what time we are allowed out more on these pools than further north. With what I’ve been hearing/reading about the fishing on these Iowa/Illinois pools and the improving state of the fishery, we won’t be sacrificing anything. I was amazed last year all the little walleyes I caught on pool 14. I can’t wait til those guys grow…

John I would love to go out with you. I would like to check out pool 14, I usually fish #17.
I couldn’t get there untill ~9:00 a.m. Could fish ’till dark. I make an excellent Roast Beef and Cheese sandwich.
Let me know if that works.
    Thanks,

Tom, sent you a P.M. Sounds good! Roast beef and cheese sounds great too!

Joel, Joe and Gianni, good luck to you and let us know how you do! I am itching to hit pool 13 sometime before spawn, have not been up there in the spring for several years.

Joe, I think you will be impressed with 13 if you head down river at all. It is quite a lot like the upper pools as far as the scenic beauty and the lack of towns and homes along the river. Lots of very good wing dams as well!

Joel, I really hope to be able to fish pool 2 sometime in the next few years. Planning to fish pool 4 for a couple days around the GTG in July, but also want to fish there at a more prime time. So much fishing to do, so little time!

    Hey John!
I’m still up in the air about Monday. I haven’t got any babysitting lined up and I’m running out of time. Do you and your wife have reliable people to give you breaks? We have in the past; but don’t right now. Oh well, what can you do?

My pool 2 experience is limited to fishing by the Ford dam. That’s why I really want to get out there and explore. I’m also just 5 minutes from the Lilydale ramp. So quick trips are possible. I might decide to just go real early and make it a quick trip. That would be better than nothing.

I’ll definetly try and make the get together and meet you. Looking forward to it!
