Thinking about heading out this Friday the 18th, main focus will be attempting to fish blade baits. I’m very new to this and am going to give it a go. Fish something like 11:00 am- whenever pm if intrested

They are fun. Cast them and work them back or jig them on the bottom. You will catch fish with them. Fishing them in heavy current is a bit of a challenge. Good luck. See you down there.

I would suggest that you purposely learn on sand rather than rock. Rocks are unforgiving as heck for even an experienced blade guy.If you are fighting current, you are fishing in the wrong spot, slack water low current areas are where you will see this presentation shine! Good luck & enjoy !

Hey Trapper: if ever there were words of wisdom shared on this site without the BS, Dean just laid it out.
    Thanks Dean !

I love blades hard to fish plastics since. I just like to be doing things but sometimes blades are not the ticket. I second
Deano you want to learn on sand and not near stumps or you will put a hurting on the pocket book. Good luck Ill be down too give me a call.

I might be there Friday too. Not sure at this point. But I fished Monday alone and limited out on saugers with blade baits. Fish were between 17-20 inches. No walleyes caught that day. Just like everyone stated I fished the sand away from current. I did try the fast water by the dam but couldn’t manage to hook any fish when they hit. There was a lot of leaves also giving me a false bite. Good luck if we don’t meet up on Friday.

See everyone tomorrow, I’ll be the guy swearing cause he’s lost all his blades to the river or screaming cause he figured them out. Vessel is a silver/white 16′ Alumacraft tiller white johnson I don’t bite
