I have a 2017 Ranger Angler 1880. Running a 175 Suzuki. Came from the factory with a 23 pitch prop. At my request Ranger swapped out the 23 for a 21. Not sure if this is the right prop even after swapping. Top end with the 21 pitch prop is about 42mph with just me and half tank of fuel. Does this sound right???

My 1850 2021 with a 175 hp pro XS Mercury came with a 19 pitch tempest plus. It should be the same hull. I hit 51 mph. It’s got pretty good hole shot too.

What is your engine’s max rpms? What are you getting for rpms? If you’re not getting close to max, you have too much pitch.

Did you run the 23 pitch on the boat?
What’s your max rpm’s and speed with each prop fully trimmed?
Doing the math the 23 pitch should be the correct prop. Upper 40’s at your max rpm.

    My 2014 1880 with Mercury 150 4 stroke runs 44 to 46 with a 4 blade and 47 to 48 with a 3 blade.

Suzuki has pretty deep gears so you could possibly run a 23 to 25 pitch prop.

Seems low, you should be able to get to around 46 with that set up I would think. Agreed it would be worth trying a 25 pitch prop depending on the RPM’s you are getting WoT.
