    Hey guys,

I just purchased a brand new King Quad 750 for mainly ice fishing. I want to install the medium Rhino Box on it for next year. Has anyone done this? I don’t think the rack design has changed much over the years but I am worried about this back “rise” that I circled in the photo. Will it force the box to be mounted too far forward so that it will be nearly impossible to carry a passenger?

    Thanks!

There is a groove in the Rear ATV Monster Box that rise should fit into.

Awesome. I didn’t see that. Thanks for pointing that out!

Where are you getting the monster box from? The large one is discontinued, right?

That’s a good question. I have to do some research and find a dealer, as I really don’t feel like paying astronomical shipping fees. But according to their website , it appears that the large box is discontinued and they only have the one size remaining.

The large has been discontinued, and now the medium is the largest. Try Dan Murphy from ice hunters in Zimmerman Mn or can also be purchased through reeds sporting goods as well.

I took a pipe wrench and bent the bar on the rack back a bit to gain a couple inches. This helped me gain enough room to remove the seat etc.

So you were not able to remove the seat with the Otterbox installed if that bar wasn’t bent back? That’s concerning for me because I have a battery tender hardwired into the system under the seat that I need to plug into every time I put it away.

It was a bit of a chore. The problem was that the grove in the bottom of the otter box is curved so you can’t slide it back too far. Bending the bar solved the problem so that the bar on the rack is still in the grove but you gain a couple inches. Its still a bit tight getting the seat off. When you unlatch the back of the seat you still need to slide it back a bit to remove it from the front so you need a bit of room.

Thanks for the tips. It really was a chore, but we got it to work alright. You were right about the tightness and getting the seat off but bending the bar slightly made it work. Did you actually use the U-Bolts that came with it? I used the pre-drilled holes in the rear rack of the machine to drill them in. But I feel like the front of the box that curves around flaps a bit too much, especially when on the trailer.

Yes I used the U-Bolts that came with the box and it’s solid. The only issue is they are a bit long and depending on where you mount them to the rack they may scrape your fenders. You can trim them down or you could always have the nuts on the inside of the box I suppose with the u-bolt piece under the rack. I used all 4 (2 per side) and put a couple right up near the front of the box so it’s nice and secure.

I have no need to remove the box on my ATV otherwise I would have added some brackets on the rack to accept the “grip pro” 1 inch lock and ride plugs designed to fit polaris racks. This is what I used on my snowmobile because I like to remove it once in a while when I’m not fishing and just riding.
