For the first time in my life I will avoid the superbowl. if both teams could loose I would watch! Tired of NE- Five wins already and we have ZERO. Philly players seem OK, but the way the fans treated us at their stadium and then we should be nice hosts to them?! We should not and will not sink to their level, I just can’t watch it-Wifey and I will go to a movie!

Usually a boycott is used for retaliation or protest in order to inflict some type of indirect harm in order to prove a point. A few dozen locals protesting the super bowl in sure will scare the NFL.

I’ll watch very little of it because I just don’t care. Carry on.

I’m not gonna hear for the next 50 yrs how awful the eagles fans were am I?

Suppose it does avoid the fact our team took one of the ugliest craps on the field ever.

It’s a bummer how bad the worst of the worst Philly fans are – they really work overtime to spoil the view of their entire fanbase. Yes, all teams have their fringe garbage fans, but Philly seems to have some of the worst.

We have Wentz jerseys for our kids from grandpa (go Bison), and the heartland is littered with them. We watched Philly games and cheered for them all year, even beyond the time he got hurt. But they’ve really made it hard to like Philly since the past game.

I’m a Broncos fan but saw a game in MN in 2012 with my one of my buddies that is a huge Bears fan. We both wore Bears shirts and, shock, even your precious Vikings fan poured beer on us.

My point is there are drunk, a-hole fans in every stadium and that’s what makes the NFL what it is in my opinion. Being 32 now, with 2 young boys, I can’t honestly say I’m excited about taking them to any game because some of the things I’ve seen in the games I’ve been to. Have seen games in KC, Denver, Minnesota, Green Bay, San Francisco, Houston, Chicago and Baltimore and can say that all of them had their share of characters.

Broncos lost 43-8 in a Super Bowl and MN lost almost as badly in a Chanpionship game. Case isn’t going to win you a Super Bowl and they can continue to be good with him or find a franchise QB that gives them a shot; problem is there is only a few of those out there and you have to capitalize when you get one.

You make credible statements in your post bass hater but one does not know all. There is and has been history of success in which you say otherwise…Anyone remember Doug Williams?

“Williams is known for his remarkable performance with the Washington Redskins in Super Bowl XXII. Williams, who was named the Super Bowl MVP, passed for a Super Bowl record 340 yards and four touchdowns, with one interception. He was the first African-American starting quarterback to win a Super Bowl.[1] Williams also became the first player in Super Bowl history to pass for four touchdowns in a single quarter, and four in a half.”

“On the day before Super Bowl XXII, Williams had a six-hour root canal surgery performed (under full anesthetic) to repair an abscess under a dental bridge. The pain of this condition caused him to lose sleep for several days, as reported in the book Hit and Tell: War Stories of the NFL (/K.Lynch, Foghorn Press).
Facing legendary Denver Broncos quarterback John Elway, Williams engineered a 42-10 rout, in which the Redskins set an NFL record by scoring five touchdowns in the second quarter. Williams completed 18 of 29 passes for 340 yards, with four touchdown passes, and was named Super Bowl MVP.
The Super Bowl was clearly the high point of Williams’s NFL career. He suffered from injuries the following season and was outplayed by Mark Rypien, who eventually won the starting job from Williams.”

There are few exceptions, but I’m a realist and you’re just kidding yourselves if you think Keenum is going to win a Super Bowl.

Guess what, Bradford and Brigewater won’t either. I’ll eat my words and wait to stand corrected, but I’ve watched closely as a team in Kansas City goes 12-4 every year and never makes it past the first round.

The Vikings are the same way with a better defense but have to deal with a Rogers, Brees and I’d include a Wentz in there now. Having Rogers hurt this year was their best chance at having a shot at Brady and they couldn’t even do that.

Super Bowl quality defenses don’t stick around very long and you have a few short windows to get in with a less than elite QB. Denver and Seattle come to mind recently and both of them won’t be in the SB conversation next year.

All of this BS is being blown way out of proportion IMO. There was a bit of a story there so FNM (fake news media) grasped a good hold of it and still haven’t let go of it. I’ve got a buddy that was at the Vikings-Saints game and he was saying that a Vikings fan heaved a nearly full beer at a saints fan several minutes after the final play. The beer ended up smoking his dad who was several feet from the shouting/pushing.

Toughen up buttercup. Cant handle playoff football atmosphere? Watch at home. People also need to face the fact that it isn’t a place for kids. Too many drunken idiots around.

Maybe this will make you feel better about humanity and nfl fans:

A group of Philadelphia Eagles fans are trying to show that not every member of their fan base is rowdy and confrontational.

According to Tim McManus of ESPN.com, a collection of Eagles fans have made donations to The Mike Zimmer Foundation as a gesture of good will after several incidents between Eagles and Minnesota Vikings surrounding last Sunday’s NFC Championship game.

The foundation has received approximately $7,000 in donations from Eagles fans since Sunday’s game. The foundation seeks to serve youth in Minnesota and was created to honor Zimmer’s wife, Vikki, who died in 2009.

While the incidents with fans were isolated events, the reputation has been earned through the decades. Whether it’s throwing snowballs at Santa Claus and others, cheering injured players or punching horses, a small subset of Eagles fans have sullied the fan base as a whole.

The group of people donating to Zimmer’s foundation are making a nice gesture to show the other side of the Eagles’ fan base.

looks like they took a play from the Vikings/Saints playbook… was cool to see Vikings fans raise $220,000+ for that…

Philly fans are the worst. Yes there are bad apples everywhere, but philly takes it to another level. There are plenty of articles and videos not originating from MN that show this. This goes beyond losing to them and being sore losers.

I would agree, might be a sad thing, but I would never bring a young kid to a pro sports events, especially football. Heck I don’t even like going to them

Minnesotans must have some thin skin if they are still talkin about it. It was pretty funny that as soon as the game was over it wasn’t how embarrassing the loss was or how overdone all the stupid hand clapping skol videos were, no, instead the media instantly finds a dozen snowflakes who were upset that their feewings got hurt.

This just in…opposing fans at local stadium are drunk idiots…more at 10 o’clock Bob.

We have had very good defenses the last 3 years now and we have very young players signed long term so I don’t see that changing. Saying Keenum can’t win a Super Bowl is absurd. Look at Manning when he won one in Denver he couldn’t throw it 30 yards down the field anymore and how about Trent Dilfer? He was a backup at best. Keenum is better than both Dilfer and Manning (in his last season.)

Every fan base has drunks. Philly takes it to another level. Having riot police showing up at tailgating for example. Also remember Milly the 99 year old fan? Look up what the poster said that Philly fans were waking down the street with. Also they put oil on the stoplights and signs so they don’t climb on them! No doubt every fan base has drunks and not nice people. However, Philadelphia has it at a much higher level.

I wont be boycotting, protesting or complaining. I will be doing what I normally do, don’t follow or watch any football. The less you follow, the easier your life becomes. Try it sometime, you won’t regret it.

all teams have douche bag fans… did you see the “fo8k Millie” sign ? now that showed some real class….. I am going to the cabin, may or may not see the game… don;t care either way. you can only close down roads if you are “protesting police”…. is the answer. I think they should hand out Tide pods at the entrance to the stadium.. clean them up a little.

Could give two craps about the game.

If the pro sports games are not a place to bring kids maybe adults and the sports teams should do something about that. I know money is the priority heres the thing they have a lot of money and if their current fan base is drunken idiots wait and see what happens when all the young kids today don’t care about football down the road.

I heard a story about a little girl getting hit by a full beer can thrown at her and her parents. She was like 9 or something.

Toughen up? Yeah, those little kids need to toughen up, can’t even handle when a grown ass adult assaults them for no reason.

The whole state of MN is embarrassed for getting trounced on the field, the whole city of philly should be embarrassed for being terrible human beings. If you need to attack others just because they are wearing a different jersey then you should put the eagles jersey away and join a gang.

    Bunch of cowards.

My buddies and I have been going to away Vikings games every year for quite a while. We have been to Chicago, Green Bay x3, KC, Denver, Indianapolis, Dallas and Pitt. There is always some smack talk, occasionally started by us, but there has never been anything remotely close to the mob mentality displayed in the videos from Philly.

p.s. If you ever have the chance to go to a KC game, do it! Unbelievable BBQ in the tailgates.

As for the Super Bowl, I’m excited to watch the greatest coach and QB ever work in the SB again!

Its a matter of perspective I guess. Harm maybe, prove apoint. The route of it comes to make change. To belittle ones thoughts does nothing. Where would we be without protest?

I choose not to watch for my own reasons just like you and thats ok with me and its ok, like that really matters, with me if someone wants to watch the game.

I’ve traveled to many other stadiums as well, Charlotte NC a few months ago. Kansas City is a blast! They know how to tailgate!
The FW and two of our kids are doing the zipline across the river next week and then hitting Nicolet mall for some beers and food. I’m looking forward to witnessing all the hoopla.
I’m looking forward to the game being played here and will definitely be watching.

I find it ironic that we finally get a Superbowl in town, something I would normally be extra excited about watching.

And leave it to the Vikings to suck the enjoyment out of it. I have to give them credit…. they keep finding cruel and unusual ways to torture us.
